nature photography : california towhee

Several California Towhees flitted about the trees and rocks near the Inaja Memorial Nature Trail in the Palomar mountains east of San Diego when John stopped there on his way into the desert for a day of birding. Spring was definitely in the air, as several perched atop rocks and solicited for mates.
